Yobe State Governor, Gaidam
Governor Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe State, yesterday, approved N417,014,410 for the payment of scholarships to 21,109 students in 50 institutions of learning across the country.
The Director of Press Affairs to the Governor, Abdullahi Bego, in a statement, said the payments to benefiting students will begin in July. Recall that in December 2016, the governor approved N104,326,454 for 3,776 students in institutions of higher learning in Maiduguri zone for the 2016academic session, with the Yobe State Government paying N571.75 million in scholarship to students in 2016. The latest payment of N417,014, 410 to Yobe students across the country, according to Bego, reiterates the commitment of the Gaidam administration to strengthening the education sector. The Gaidam administration, he said, will continue to take every measure necessary to improve the education sector generally.
