Fatai Amoo Explains Aiteo Cup Doubts

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) head coach, Fatai Amoo has said his side are the least motivated going into the Aiteo Cup clash against amateur side, Delta Warriors.

The Oluyole Warriors are guests of Delta state side in Wednesday’s Aiteo Cup round of 32 clash at the Warri Township Stadium.

Amoo said the shock element in the Aiteo Cup makes him uncomfortable confronting the underdogs, Delta Warriors.

“The tradition that comes with the Aiteo Cup means that anything can happen and it simply makes me uncomfortable.

“When one is playing underdogs one has to be determined and strong to face the challenge squarely.

“Unfortunately, we look unmotivated and unprepared for the Aiteo Cup clash against Delta Warriors.

“Things are not the best for the team going into the Aiteo Cup round of 32 fixture but we have to psyche ourselves to face the task and make something out of nothing.

“I’m not happy mainly because 3SC are not well motivated to face Delta Warriors but that’s not making excuses.

“We are here in Warri with the best of intention to maintain the pedigree and sanctity of the club side.

“We have called additional two players from home to join us in Warri aimed at reinforcing and strengthening the side.

“While we play the Aiteo Cup against Delta Warriors our minds are thinking of the crucial survival league clash on Sunday against Akwa United in Ibadan.

“We are determined to cross the hurdle posed by Delta Warriors to go ahead possibly to the final.

“I have been an FA Cup winner in the past I want to win again that’s why I have put behind me the difficulties to give the clash against Delta Warriors 100% concentration,” said the former Sunshine Stars coach to supersport.com.

The winners of the Delta Warriors versus 3SC fixture clash will automatically advance to the Aiteo Cup round of 16.
