Celebrate Indian Independence at festive fair in Gloucester tomorrow

Just over 70 years ago India celebrated its independence from the British Empire.
As the huge country grows to become one of the major economic powers of
the 21 century, celebrate that anniversary, or find out more about the country at Siddhi Mela, the Indian festive fair in Gloucester tomorrow.
The city’s Hindu Cultural Association is holding the event which will feature stalls on Indian national symbols and heroes, henna tattooing (mehandi), sell Indian snacks and accessories give visitors the opportunity to make clay figures of the deity Ganesha as the fair also celebrates the recent festival of Ganesh Chathurthi.
The fair is held at The Museum of Gloucester in Brunswick Road, with stalls form 11am to 2.30 and entertainment from 3pm to 4pm.

Entry is free but there may be small charges at the stalls for various activities.
