Church service to honor prayer day for climate action

Church service to honor prayer day for climate action

FIJIANS should not only be vocal on the issue of climate change but also take action for a cleaner and more resilient Fiji.
These were the sentiments shared by Methodist Church Lay preacher of Nacula village, Manasa Baivatu during the combined church service in the Yasawas on Sunday in commemoration of Fiji National Multi-Faith Day of Prayer for climate action.
"God says that we are to rule over the earth and look after it, I think the main problem here is the lack of enlightenment, we need to be taught more on how to look after things around us and manage them carefully. I recommend and appreciate the idea of worshiping together to tackle this problem. The church has the solution and that comes from God himself," Mr Baivatu said.
The initiative was part of the Fiji National Climate Week initiative and the World Wide Fund for Nature - Pacific's (WWF-Pacific) participation.
