President Vladimir Putin''s visits to Egypt and Turkey, the Kremlin press service reported.
Putin and his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi, are analyzing in Cairo international matters like stability and security in the Levant and North Africa, including the conflict in Syria and the consequences of U.S. President Donald Trump's recent recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
In addition, Putin and Al-Sisi are discussing Russia's announcement on December 4 about the defeat of the terrorist movement known as the Islamic State (IS) on both banks of the Euphrates River in Syria.
During the talks, they might discuss a pending issue in bilateral relations referring to the resumption of direct flights between Russia and Egypt, which were suspended after the terrorist attack in October 2015 on a commercial plane carrying 224 passengers on the Sinai Peninsula.
Another pending issue is the signing of a contract to implement an agreement reached in November 2015 on the construction of a nuclear plant in the Egyptian city of Ed Debaa. Construction works must take 12 years.

Putin will travel today to Ankara, where he will meet for the third time in less than two months with his Turkish peer, Recep Tayipp Erdogan, and will discuss the situation in the Levant and Trump's stance on the status of Jerusalem.
In addition, Putin and Erdogan will resume the talks on energy cooperation between the two countries, according to the Kremlin.
