QPR UNDER-23S CAME OUT 2-1 WINNERS AGAINST SHEFFIELD UNITED AT LOFTUS ROAD THIS AFTERNOON THANKS TO GOALS FROM BRIGHT OSAYI-SAMUEL AND ARAMIDE OTEH.
It was a deserved victory for Rangers in a game which saw first-teamers Jordan Cousins and Alex Baptiste play 90 minutes and Paul Hall’s side claimed their first victory since January 8th against Charlton.
The match started off at a very slow pace and it wasn’t until the 12th minute until we witnessed the first effort on goal which came via trialist Wes McDonald after good work down the left-hand side from Jack Williams.
A couple of minutes later Matt Ingram was forced into action when he saved Tyler Smith’s well-struck low shot.
Rangers took the lead on the 22nd minute courtesy of a Bright Osayi-Samuel fine individual goal. The 20-year-old drove into the box before moving the ball onto his left foot and curling his effort expertly into the bottom corner.
The R’s then enjoyed a good spell of possession but on the 32nd minute, against the run of play, Sheffield United equalised when Blades captain Regan Slater cleverly turned in the box before firing past Ingram’s far corner.

Just before half-time Paul Hall’s side almost regained the lead when Giles Phillips met Chay Tilt’s corner but Eastwood produced an excellent point blank save to deny the centre-halves header.
It took QPR six minutes after the break to go back in front when Oteh quickly got the ball out of his feet and unleashed a powerful shot which beat the keeper at his near post.
12 minutes later QPR really should have extended their lead. An exceptional run from Osayi-Samuel down the left hand side saw him put it on a plate for Tilt but he side-footed straight into the hands of the keeper from six yards out.
Rangers were almost made to rue that miss a minute later when Alex Baptiste cleared off the line after Ingram’s save diverted the ball into the direction of a Sheffield United player.
The game was beginning to open up with the next opportunity going to the R’s. Nice build up play saw the ball divert into the path of Oteh who danced inside the box before forcing Eastwood into another impressive save.

The next chance of the game fell the way of Sheffield United. Smith was too quick for Baptiste and got himself one on one with Ingram who stayed big and denied him with his feet.
In the 73rd minute Eastwood produced his third outstanding save of the match. Dalling made a darting run before squaring to Tilt who this time made great contact with his shot but it was palmed over by Sheffield United’s best player on the day Eastwood.
Osayi-Samuel nearly sealed the victory at the end with another fine curling shot but once again that man Eastwood came out on top with a save to his left-hand-side.
And there was time for one last effort from Sheffield United when Smith fizzed in a powerful 30-yard strike which was pushed out by Matt Ingram to ensure the three points remained in W12.
