ROYAL BABY NAME SHOCK AS KATE KEEPS WORLD GUESSING ON TIMING OF ANNOUNCEMENT

ROYAL BABY NAME SHOCK AS KATE KEEPS WORLD GUESSING ON TIMING OF ANNOUNCEMENT
There was shock among those eagerly awaiting the announcement of the name of the Duchess of Cambridge’s third child after Prince William and Kate failed to reveal any new information yesterday as had previously been expected.
The Duchess gave birth to a new Prince, who weighed 8lbs 7oz, on Monday at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital.
Shortly after the birth Kensington Palace said the baby’s name would be revealed in “due course” and many royal commentators believed yesterday would be the day the name was released to the public.
However, a spokeswoman has since said they would not be “guiding on whether an announcement will be made.”
Speaking on Radio 4’s Today programme on Tuesday, royal expert Kate Williams said: “When Prince Charles was born we had to wait a month but it’s much quicker now so we expect to hear possibly by the end of today but definitely tomorrow.
It was after a couple of days for both George and Charlotte.”
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams also believed the announcement would have been made on Wednesday.
Yesterday he said: “As the royals tend to act according to precedent it is likely we will know today.
They will probably wait until the Anzac commemoration events are over.
I have no idea of the possible time.
It could of course be later and when the Prince of Wales has returned from France marking Anzac Day.”

Anzac Day is the anniversary of the start of the WW1 Gallipoli landings, and is a national day of remembrance for Australia and New Zealand.
Thousands of Anzac troops - Australian and New Zealand Army Corps - died in the ill-fated 1915 campaign on the Turkish peninsula.
The ongoing wait for the royal announcement has left punters continuing to guessing what the eventual name will be.
The bookies’ favourite is still Arthur, which has odds of 2/1, while James has odds of 4/1. Meanwhile , Philip has odds of 6/1.
However, the name James is the most popular baby name among betters, with the largest amount of money being placed on it in Ladbrokes betting.
