UFC VETERAN CHALLANGES MMA TO COMPETE IN BARE KNUCKLE FIGHTING

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight and winner of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 3, Kendall Grove, is taking a break from mixed martial arts (MMA) to try his hand(s) at Bare Knuckle Fighting.

“Da Spyder” will make his in-ring debut at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) 2: “A New Era,” inside Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, Miss., on Aug. 25, 2018, according to a press release the promotion distributed on Monday.

Grove, 35, compiled a 23-18 (1 NC) record in cage fighting, which includes appearances for Bellator MMA and Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki (KSW) in Poland. The Hawaiian was last seen on the losing end of a split-decision against A.J. Matthews back in January, his third straight loss.

Perhaps the change of scenery (and rule set) will do him some good.

Also hooking up with BKFC are former UFC sluggers Chris Leben and Phil Baroni, along with Bec Rawlings, which leads me to believe more names from yesteryear could be making their way over in the coming months.

I guess it beats this.
