Ekiti Mega Party of Nigeria (MPN), with over 4000 members of its executives across the wards, councils and state levels has been dissolved into the Peoples Party of Nigeria (PPN) last weekend.

The move by the other MPN members was informed by the need to belong to an ill will-free platform where political careers could be built and aspirations met, said MPN State Publicity Secretary, Moses Ajagunigbala.

In a statement by Ajagunigbala in Ado-Ekiti , he said that:  “the fraudulent Terms of Settlement obtained by a section of the party in May 2018 which undermined the party in the state in the build-up to the July 14, 2018 governorship election will continue to disturb the party.

Former MPN spokesman stated that. “The Terms of Settlement is likely to eventually ruin the MPN as the conditions therein are not practicable in any reasonable society where democracy thrives,”

The Mega Party of Nigeria, in the state, following the acceptance of the Terms of Settlement by a Federal High Court, Ado-Ekiti Division, was astounded by crisis that made the party go into the July 14 governorship election with two persons, Bisi Omoyeni and Sunday Balogun, claiming the governorship ticket, leading to cynicism among members as the party split into factions and several caucuses.

According to Ajagunigbala, PPN is an organised party where the erstwhile MPN members were readily absorbed in view of their strong structures and membership base across the 188 political wards in Ekiti State, “ therefore; it is the right party for any right thinking politician” in place of the MPN.

Razak Eyiowuawi,PPN National Chairman, speak well of the movement of MPN members into his party when he was admitting them and told them that “it is the beginning of great things for Peoples Party of Nigeria (PPN) in Ekiti State.”

With party like this (PPN) the hope of our aspirants will rise “This will further the aspirations of our aspirants in the state quest for House of Assembly, House of Representatives and Senate seats in the 2019 general elections.”  said Eyiowuawi
To further strengthen the party in the state, the PPN National Chairman assured that the party would, in the next few weeks, embark on massive sensitization of members in Ekiti State.
